Coupon 101 Methods and Madness.
Simple Grocery Match Up
After a few years of treading the coupon waters this is the method that I have chosen to stick with {mixed with the occasional freebie hunter method}. Using this method I save about $80-$100/month. It's not anything major but hey, savings are savings. With this method I make my meal plan, wait for the sales to come out on Sunday, make my grocery list and find coupons I can use with the sales. I also keep a spreadsheet so I can keep track of the lowest price. I have found this method to be the most effective and I don't have to spend my whole week planning my trip. |
Extreme
This method {in my personal opinion} is the most labor intesive, but could bring in the most savings. From what I understand this method requires obtaining as many coupons as possible and finding a deal to match the coupons up with. I say this is the most labor intensive because you must acquire a large amount of coupons and be familiar with sales rotatations. Here is a great source for extreme couponing and the best deals. |
Freebie Hunter
Everyone enjoys a great freebie or super outrageous deal so I use this website to check the free or almost free lists. I have scored some super deals this way! |
Casual
I have only read about what I am calling the "casual method" I think it's a great idea it's just not my capability to make such a system but with this method you basically keep a dated filing system with the inserts filed accordingly. Then you just clip as needed without having to spend forever clipping bunches of coupons. Pretty nifty. |
